アッパーのスウェードとソールのシルエットが可愛らしいハイカットスニーカーです。
ソール自体もVibram社のものを採用しており、クッション性に長けた一足です。
レースアップでシャフト上まできゅっと締まるようになっていますが、
バックジップで着脱は楽に行える。

素材使いに関しては、ソール周りを本革で囲っているのが、レザーソールのような
印象があって素敵です。実際にレザーソールにするのとは違い、
”歩く”ということに関して丁寧な配慮がなされているのが魅力です。
レザーであることのロマンと実用性の両立をしている一足です。

デザイナーはもともとファインアーティストであり、
壁に掛ける絵画から人間が着る衣服へと創作意欲が移り、
独学でパターンメイキング、縫製を学び、
1987年に「Caterpillar Produit」を設立。
「本当に自分の着たいものを作りたい」という思いから
2001年春夏にブランド「The Viridi-anne(ザ ヴィリディアン)」がスタート。
黒を基調とした洗練されたデザインと経年変化を意識した素材が特徴です。
また、撥水素材などを使用した機能性アイテムもあり、
アート的ものづくりの中にリアルクローズが同居しています。
「The Viridi-anne(ザ ヴィリディアン)」の意味は特に設定しておらず、
絵の具で、3価のクロム化合物を含む緑色の顔料、
ヴィリジアン(Viridian)からインスピレーションを受けた造語。
